buckwheat question

I bought a bag of raw buckwheat. I didnt realize it was the same as

kasha ( roasted) anyway I made the kasha in my taboli but it was mushy

I prefer quinoa ....so now what do I do with the buckwheat? Well I

thought

maybe I could use it as flour. so I did some research on the internet

and it seems that I could grind the raw buckwheat but not the kasha. I

plan to use a small coffee grinder for this as I probably will only

grind small amounts and use it right away. So my question is this: has

anyone ever tried this? can I use the food processor instead?

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!

I haven't tried it, but when I used to grind my own wheat, I would sometimes

use my blender rather than my wheat grinder. The blender seemed to do a

better job than my food processor did.

Do others have experience with this?

Yup, a good quality coffee mill does a great job with small quantities of

buckwheat. I do about a cup for pancakes, 1/2 cup at a time. It's quick and

simple. Fresh ground buckwheat does great in pancakes.

Thanks for all you thoughts! I cant wait to make pancakes now! What

else could I make with buckwheat flour? I don't bake breads or

cookies... yet, just fried breads like arepas , fritters and such can

it be used to thicken gravy?
