Guest guest
I found this recipe in the 3ABN World Feb 2007 news letter. My girls made it today, it's delicious! Sunflower Seed Nutloaf - by Nyse Collins of Nyse Life Consultants Inc. 1/2 c. raw sunflower seeds, ground in blender 2/3 c. walnuts, ground 3/4 c. bread crumbs 1 medium potato, raw, shredded 1 c. nut or soy milk 1 garlic clove, chopped fine 1 small onion, chopped fine 1 tsp sea salt 1 Tbsp Bragg's Liquid Aminos (soy sauce replacement) 1/4 tsp sage 1/4 tsp garlic salt Mix all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Grease loaf pan with olive oil or cooking spray, and pour mixture into it. Cover it with aluminum foil, and bake 45 minutes at 350 degrees F. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 min. Serves 6-8. I didn't have any bread crumbs, so I used my toasted brown rice flakes instead. It turned out great! I would love to try it with quinoa flakes! The rice flakes that I use are hard so I mix them into the recipe as normal and let the mixture sit before putting into the baking dish (about 10-15 min.) Bake as normal. -Gail
Guest guest
Hi Gail, Thank you for your post. Guess what? I made the same loaf today! And it was delicious, too! We liked it a lot. I omitted fresh garlic and used garlic powder instead of garlic salt. It turned out well. I made some " planned-overs " and froze it for some other occasion. Thanks again for the recipe! Guest guest
Gail, I too have this same recipe from the same 3ABN TV guide. I posted it on Dr. McDougall's site. www.drmcdougall.com under the discussion board, under Gluten-Free Issues. I used a flaxseed mixture, which made the loaf gooey. I will look into the quinoa flakes. Do you think the Ener G Tapioca bread would work? Lois candocook <candocook wrote: I found this recipe in the 3ABN World Feb 2007 news letter.
