French Toast (with bananas) Ingredients: 3 cups sliced bananas (about 2 large) 2/3-1 cup soy milk 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon 3/4 teaspoon vanilla 12 slices bread oil for cooking in Maple Syrup Directions: Blend together bananas, soymilk, cinnamon, and vanilla. Pour into a pie plate, dip slices of bread into batter. Fry in a non-stick skillet until slightly golden, be sure to use plenty of oil or else it will stick to the pan Serve with maple syrup Serves: 6 Tofu French Toast Ingredients: 1/2 lb. of soft tofu 1/4 cup of soy milk or rice milk tsp. of vanilla tsp. of cinnamon 1/4 cup of water pat of soy margerine 4 slices cut into triangles of Whole wheat bread or specialty bread fresh berries 1 banana maple syrup granola Directions: Mix tofu, soy or rice milk, vanilla, cinnammon, and water in a blender on "liquify" or highest level, until you get the consistancy of two beaten eggs. Dip pieces of bread into mixture and place in a treated iron skillet (with margerine) until golden brown. I think one of those books might have a recipe for you. Guest guest Posted April 26, 2007 Report Share Posted April 26, 2007 French Toast Source: Lifestyle Center of America 1 cup cashew pieces, raw and rinsed 1 cup water, warm 2 cups water, warm, additional 3 Tbsp. cornstarch 1/4 cup flaxseed 1 Tbsp. vanilla 3/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. coriander or cinnamon 12 gluten free bread slices Blend cashews with the 1 cup of water for 1 - 2 minutes until creamy. Add rest of ingredients (except bread) and blend on high speed until flaxseed thickens mixture. Pour into a bowl and dip bread into batter until well-soaked. Place close together on frying pan or a griddle that has been prepared by non-stick cooking spray or vegetable oil. (If using griddle, set it to 350 degrees F.). Spray top with non-stick cooking spray before turning (optional). Cook until golden brown. Variation: Bake at 400 degrees F. for about 15 minutes or until light brown on bottom.
