Guest guest Posted May 18, 2007 Report Share Posted May 18, 2007 Haricots Verts a la Saute (Saute French Beans) (France) 1 1/2 tablespoons (4 1/2 tsp) vegan margarine 2 lb (900 g) young French green beans salt and pepper Fill a saucepan one third full of water and bring it to the boil. Add about a level tablespoon (3 tsp) of salt. Put in the washed and trimmed young beans, cover the pan and cook for 10 minutes. Pour off the water. Get the margarine sizzling hot in a frying pan, add the boiled beans and keep tossing them about until they just begin to get brown. Add black pepper and more salt if needed.
