Spinach and Corn Pasties

quantity of GF pastry to make three 25 cm (10 " ) squares (use a

packet mix or see Files for recipes)

4 tsp vegetable oil

2 medium potatoes (400 g / 14 oz), diced into 1 cm (3/8 " ) pieces

1 small brown onion, chopped finely

250 g (9 oz) frozen spinach, thawed, drained

two 310 g (11 oz) cans creamed corn

8 tsp milk alternative

1. Heat half the oil in large frying pan; cook potato, stirring, until

browned lightly. Add onion; cook, stirring, until soft. Combine

potato, onion, spinach and corn in large bowl.

2. Preheat oven to 200 C (390 F) /180 C (350 F) fan-forced. Oil two

oven trays.

3. Roll pastry into 25 cm (10 " ) squares and cut in half diagonally.

(Alternatively use a small plate to cut circles.) Divide filling among

triangles, placing on one side; fold pastry in half to enclose

filling, pressing edges with fork to seal.

4. Place pasties on trays; brush with milk. Bake about 30 minutes or

until browned lightly. Serve with sweet chilli sauce, if desired.

Serves 6.

Is it possible to buy GF pastry squares, the way you can purchase regular pie

pastry ready-made? (Maybe this is a silly question...?)
