Guest guest
Barbara, I cannot help, but I will echo your desires to the universe. My daughter would be sending positive vibrations all year to whomever could come up with this recipe. She's been missing it so much since becoming vegan, and especially now since I'm trying hard to be gluten-free myself. Guest guest
Barbara We have good success with several challah recipes, but egg-free would be a challenge since most challah relies heavily on eggs (hence the nomenclature " egg bread " ). I have a couple of questions for you though: 1. What are you using as your egg sub? 2. Are you trying to make braidable loaves? 3. Are you avoiding any other grains than just the gluten ones (ie also corn or rice) for religious reasons? We really like the recipe from a blog, called Gluten-Free by the Bay http://glutenfreebay.blogspot.com/ He also has a great recipe for latkes featured this week. My daughter (14) and second son (16) have developed a real knack for making these and my daughter loves to have latkes any time of the year. We eat them with apple or pear sauce rather than sour cream as we are avoiding soy as well as dairy, and these ones in the blog are great with either fruit. My children also love my mango salsa, which while not traditional for latkes, sure does go well.
