Temperature Max for Flax Oil?

Does anyone know what a top temperature for flax oil would be? I put it in with

my short grain brown rice last night and it made the rice really nice, but if it

loses all of it's omegas, I don't want to do that anymore. I looked online and

found that you shouldn't cook with it, and that it should be added to cooked

food instead, but I was wondering if they meant frying with it. I suppose rice

still gets pretty hot in a rice cooker, but I'm thinking the temperature is

lower than frying.

Thanks,

References I can find say 300 degrees F. An additional note is that

internal temperature when baking is seldom above 212 degrees F

(boiling point of water).

Your rice cooker should switch from " cook " to " warm " as soon as 212

degrees F is reached, as that is the point at which all water has

boiled off.

So it looks like you should be safe. You should also be able to tell

when you have reached too high a temp with your flax oil, as it will

smell rancid or fishy.

Great information, Pam. Thank you so much. I guess I'm safe. It smelled and

tasted fine.

Thanks again!
