Hi,

I posted directly from the site, and my message is still not

showing up.. It is hard to stay in on conversations with a delay -

anyone else experience this before?!

Hoping to get a word in sometime!

My apologies, Nicole. Somehow I missed the request for posting. I

went to the website and approved it --- and it should be posted now.

I approve messages from my email box and sometimes they 'stack' upon

one another in gmail, looking like one message when they are two or

three. So, I missed it.

I don't mind switching our group settings to unmoderated, but we do

receive a fair amount of 'spam' and 'advertising' that I weed out

before sending messages along to the group. I think it helps to keep

everyone happier when they don't have to read all the 'tangents' that

sometimes get sent in. I'm willing to take advice from the group on

this, though. It's important to me that we keep this group viable and

useful. I visit many groups that have been SO taken over by spammers

that the group has had to move to a new site and start over. For us

this would be difficult, as our recipe files have taken hours of work

and would not be easy to move.

Enjoy a wonderful day!

It's really easy for us to take for granted how the moderators volunteer to

keep things going since the moderation is invisible to most of us! So thank

you, LaDonna, for doing that for us.

Hi, just in case this helps with this particular problem, I used to be a

moderator of a group and what we did was to moderate everyone until their first

post, then change their status to unmoderated.

LaDonna,

There is another setting that should keep out spammers while making

less work for you as well as fewer delays. It allows moderation only

of new members, then you can switch them to unmoderated once you're

sure they're not spammers. That's the setting I have on my group and

it works very nicely.

Hi Nicole,

I have that problem as well when on line. It could be a glitch with

gmail. For some reason I cannot read my posts. They show up in the

digest, but not when I am online responding in a newsgroup. Others who

have gmail have had problems in a couple of other newsgroups I belong

to, too. I just get the digest now, not sure what others do. :)
