Guest guest
A while back I read some posts regarding Fibromyalgia. Could some of you please comment again on the correlation between being vegan and/or gluten free and the disease? I have a friend who suffers with it, and if this would help, I'd like to pass along some information to her. She's had a real difficult time lately. Thanks, Diane
Guest guest
I am curious about this too. I am waiting for my appointment with my doctor to go in and see if I have this. Guest guest
I have been reading a lot about this and chronic fatigue. The general consciences is that it can all be cured or on the road to cured with elimination of foods you are allergic or sensitive to. I have cured my chronic fatigue thru this. I had to boost my vitamin and mineral intake after i gave up gluten. We all know we need to do this since our bodies cannot absorb nutrients when we eat gluten. Well this is with all the foods our bodies reject. A good book I recommend to people wanting to find out what they are sensitive to is The False Fat Diet by Dr. Elson Haas. It has great information in it. He still eats meat but this book helped me find out more about what was going on with food sensitivities. Once you eliminate all the food toxins you feel so great!!! Good luck to your friend. Kathi Diane Toepper <diane Sunday, June 1, 2008 9:54:25 PM Fibromyalgia. A while back I read some posts regarding Fibromyalgia. Guest guest
Diane, Three years ago I was in constant pain; back, neck, shoulder... could hardly move or be still without really hurting somewhere. I was already mostly vegan, then went gluten-free and strictly vegan for unrelated reasons and within several months my pain subsided and my flexibility improved dramatically. It was such a relief to have so much less inflammation in my body. Now if I get glutened, the familiar pains return and can take six or seven weeks to fully subside. But it is wonderful to know what causes it and how to avoid it. I would encourage your friend to go gluten-free, but also to add into her diet as many fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, and legumes as she can while minimizing refined starches, oils, etc. It seems, from my experience, that the body needs to be freed from the toxins that build up with gluten ingestion, and at the same time nourished by live foods in order to heal. May she soon experience relief, Karen Diane Toepper wrote: > > A while back I read some posts regarding Fibromyalgia. > Could some of you please comment again on the correlation > between being vegan and/or gluten free and the disease? Guest guest
Diane, You might also try Vitamin D. Deficiency can cause chronic pain, and unless we are getting out in the direct sun for at least ten minutes a day withuot sunscreen, deficiency can occur. So many health issues are associated with it. It is cheap and worth a try. All my pain went away within 24 hours. Ginny
Guest guest
Thanks. I'll pass that along too. So easy to do for all of us. Don't know if she's taking vitamins as well, but I have been. Guest guest
Interesting...I started having those kinds of pains about 10 years ago...and have been living with them since. Are there other names for gluten for me to watch out for in ingredients? I want to try this and see if I notice a difference.
