Guest guest
Two ideas: 1. She could order some custom-made if money is not an object. 2. She could take a regular multi-vitamin (assuming it's iron-free, GF, and vegetarian) and add on the extra " prenatal " items (calcium, folic acid) in other pills. Prenatal vitamins are usually the same as multivitamins but with extra calcium, folic acid, and iron. Some may have other extra vitamins. Some are just bigger because a manufacturer with a sick sense of humor thinks it's a good idea to make you choke down a horse pill when you're already suffering from morning sickness. Fun! The kicker is that if you take calcium and iron together, the calcium inhibits iron absorption. So prenatal vitamins aren't really worth the extra money anyway - at least that is what my former doc told me when I was knocked up. I had severe problems with iron deficiency then, and no amount of iron supplements could help. Of course, Dr. Dimwit never checked for celiac/gluten intolerance.... _____ On Behalf Of Shannon West Monday, July 07, 2008 9:26 PM prenatal vitamins Someone is looking for a prenatal vitamin that is vegetarian, gluten free, and also (here's the hard part) has no iron. My doc did an osteoarticular transplant because I didn't want a knee replacement. The surgery was quite dreadful but it worked, so I am happy. Finally received a dx of RA a year ago and decided that I was not going to use any of the drugs. Went to Dr Joel Fuhrman (www.drfuhrman.com) and he tweeked my diet, added tons of cruciferous veggies and juice, plus water fasting. Also had me cut down on my fruits to max 3 a day. As of 4 months ago all my blood work was normal and I have no pain. Am in complete remission, just as a result of taking out all food allergens, high doses of DHA, EPA and probiotics and eating pounds and pounds of greens. How are you doing? What happened with the black mold? I am so excited because next week we're going to Dr Fuhrman's get away. I will get my first break from cooking in 4.5 years. all the food will be safe for us to eat. well, almost all food, some will have soy, but his organizer is aware of our soy allergy and can work around it. Do you have a good GFCFSF egg free bread recipe for me? family wants bread and so far everything I've tried has flopped horribly Shez --http://homeschooledtwins.blogspot.com
