Guest guest Posted July 19, 2008 Report Share Posted July 19, 2008 I've seen instructions for making an icecream maker using two coffee cans (one nesting inside the other, and a layer of salt, I think, between the two cans). I've made ice cream and sorbets just in the freezer. You need to take it out and stir it, or whizz it in a food processor, every hour or so to get a decent texture. so, a bit of a hassle, but it works fine.
