pre-made sausage

I haven't found any pre made sausages, or very many other meat alternatives,

that are gluten free. I thought that I got lucky when I read the ingredients

on the soy boy products, but they have some gluten containing products and

process on the same equipment. I finally kicked myself in the but and went

in the kitchen and made myself some sausages. (I'm a lazy cook.) There are

some good recipes if you search the archives. I found that a little more GF

soy sauce is needed though, but then I like flavor! I think most recipes

call for a few TBLS of soy sauce and I probably used almost 1/4 a cup. (I

like a lot of flavor!!!) lol

I really wish a good GF premade sausage would come on the market. I keep

looking, and if I ever find one I will post the info. To date though, I have

not found any. Sorry.

Good luck on your quest!

Nothing premade here, except occasionally at our asian market, and

they don't taste like sausages. You could do a sort of sausage

crumble with Sol soy ground or tvp or something, just adding spices.

I made some with lentils & rice out of an old recipe book. They were

good, but not really sausagey.

We love Soyrizo (I think it's Melissa's brand?), but that's a different kind of

sausage flavor, like Mexican chorizo.

I do remember loving a breakfast sausage patty (vegan and g-f) that was made by

Garden Burger, but we're having a tough time tracking down ANY Garden Burger

products at our grocers lately! Don't know what's up. New packaging or

ingredients, maybe?

If you're craving sausage, make some lentils with a lot of sage and some garlic

in them.

Sautee some onions until they are crispy brown and serve on top.

I think the sage will help with the craving

Sorry--but I'd like to recommend the recipes in " Vegan with a

Vengeance. " I make a tempeh bacon that's great, and there's a sausage

recipe in there I've yet to try, but everything in the book's been

wonderful so far.

I found one! http://www.elburrito.com/soybreakfastsausage.html

Unfortunately there's none within a 50 mile radius om me. :( Didn't find any

mail order info for them yet. Maybe they will have them near you!
