Guest guest
Hi Patricia; Dr. John McDougall hosts trips to Costa Rica that come close. They use a low-fat, vegan diet, so there are some dishes with gluten in them, but the meals are served buffet style with the cook handy to ask what is in stuff. They have told me that getting a gluten-free diet amoung their offerings would be easy. I have yet to try it, but I have often thought about it. They did, at one time, offer cruises but they seem to be only doing the land-based Costa Rica thing now. Guest guest
Actually there are gluten free cruises! http://www.bobandruths.com/ They are not totally vegan though, however I did write to them to ask about accommodating vegans and they replied the chefs can prepare meals to order and they have had many vegans on trips, as well as people with other dietary restrictions. I have not gone on any trips yet, but they sent a bunch of information and are very friendly and willing to answer any questions. Guest guest
There are also raw food cruises. Again, not completely gluten-free because you'd still have to watch out for wheat berries/sprouts/grass and rejuvelac, but most of it would be gluten-free and vegan. We went on Dr Fuhrman's Health Get Away in July. That was a real treat. Organic, non processed, vegan food with everything labeled for allergens. we ate like kings and had no reactions. he does one every July. Next year it is probably going to be in the FL Keys. I think it was around $1200 per adult and $300 per child. this included lectures by Dr Fuhrman on healthy eating and 3 meals a day. Plus exercise classes Shez --http://homeschooledtwins.blogspot.com
