Hi,

Having finished my day at work spending half an hour writing about classical

vs prog rock music, and science vs psychic phemonema (well, better than

actually doing work!), I went home to find my copy of the Vegan waiting for

me. And whilst reading that, I realised that over the last week I must have

spent several hours and a thousand or so words talking about compexity in

classical vs prog rock, which I care very little about beyond the enjoyment

of debate for its own sake, and the merits of science, when I am not a

scientist. But almost no time thinking or talking about veganism or animal

rights. And, especially on a vegan list, that has got to be a little wrong.

So whilst I'm always happy to discuss anything, and argue from either side

really (must be a bit of the old 'debate-team' left in me there!), I do feel

rather guilty at having clogged up both this list and my own mind with talk

of form in music. Which, to be honest, just isn't that important.

So apologies, and I'll try and make sure the next debate I spark off through

some throwaway comment is actually to do with veganism!

John

Ps: Though that said, Jo, my favourite sport to watch is tennis. Or used to

be, until Henman fans with little understanding of the sport started turning

up and acting poorly...booing an opponent in tennis and cheering double

faults? Grrr.

Hi,

It's the magazine of the Vegan Society. It's UK-based, but I'd have thought

you could get it sent to you elsewhere. Not certain though.

Hi Sahara

Yep - it's the quarterly magazine sent out to members of the UK Vegan

Society. IMHO, it's way better than the Vegetarian Society equivalent.

You haven't hogged the list by yourself. It was an ineresting debate.

I like watching Wimbledon, but as you say, don't like the booing of the

Henman opponents. I also like watching the F1 Grand Prix, and sometimes

snooker. If I'm in the mood I also enoy watching skiing and some of the

extreme sports.

Herbivore Clothing Company (they of the " Praise Seitan " and " Vegetarianism

is for lovers " T-shirts) has put out a magazine called Herbivore with Sarah

" How it All Vegan " Kramer on the cover.

Cool rag. I laughed my head off at the article on White Trash Vegetarians.

I'd like to see a t-shirt: " Seitan Worshipper " . (Probably a bit obscure for

the average person, though.)
