Guest guest
I don't really understand what that has to do with being vegan. How does swallowing or not swallowing reduce animal cruelty? Jewel
Guest guest
Interesting subject! But I think what is ment here is not in terms of animal cruelty but about your own beliefs. If you're a vegan is it moral or ethical to exchange bodily fluids with a person who for example eats meat and dairy. Isn't that in a way getting them into your system as well... Guest guest
That's an interesting change of topic! I heard a joke regarding that--about a vegan who wouldn't participate in oral sex because she didn't believe in swallowing animal protein. But since being vegan is about reducing exploitation of animals, I don't think performing a certain act counts as exploiting the male, so it's perfectly OK. Guest guest
So then kissing would be out too. I guess that goes back to whether you would date someone who isn't vegan. Personal choice, right? I have a problem when people use a label, be it vegan or whatever to define who they are. All of the choices you make should be based on what YOU feel is right, not what your " label " dictates. , " Marit " <tuliratsu@h...> wrote: > Interesting subject! > But I think what is ment here is not in terms of animal cruelty but about your own beliefs. Guest guest
I don't know if this was directed at me (since you quoted my reply), but I just wanted to say I was responding to post 11249. Just so you don't think I just pulled it out of midair. Jewel , " Peter " <Snowbow@b...> wrote: > Hi folks > > Two points: > > > I don't really understand what that has to do with being vegan. Best thing when asked that is to laugh derisively. Some people think that they're being clever - I wouldn't personally be inclined to let them cling to that illusion! :-) BB Peter --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
thank you peter...........the issue of us/me being vegan raises issues of guilt in others, which they then try to project on us............. my partner tried to sneak mashed potatoes made with butter onto my plate yesterday........... not funny catherine >"Peter" > > >Re: Re: bodily fluids..... >Mon, 26 May 2003 23:27:25 +0100 > >Hi Jewel > > > I don't know if this was directed at me (since you quoted my reply), > > but I just wanted to say I was responding to post 11249. Guest guest
Hi Catherine > my partner tried to sneak mashed potatoes made with butter onto my plate yesterday........... Now, IMHO, that's just down right nasty. Even if he doesn't agree with your choice, he should at least respect it. Sorry, I know it's none of my business, but that sort of thing annoys me! Guest guest
I agree! That is simply not right. He may not realize what this means to you, but he should still respect yer wishes. Maybe he just doesn't realize how much trust he has now stolen from you. nikki , " Peter " <Snowbow@b...> wrote: > Hi Catherine > > > my partner tried to sneak mashed potatoes made with butter onto my plate yesterday........... > > Now, IMHO, that's just down right nasty. Guest guest
How could he do that to the Welsh princess? I would agree with Mr Moderator that was down right nasty and possibly ignorant of him. I would emphasise with him the possible physical and mental upset that that sort of thing clould cause a vegan. Next time you are dancing in the woods, leave him out of your incantations..... > Hi Catherine > > my partner tried to sneak mashed potatoes made with butter onto my plate yesterday........... > >Now, IMHO, that's just down right nasty.
