Guest guest
I believe that there are a lot of vegans particularly new vegans, that have not given this subject much thought. Obviously for total veganism abstinence is ideal, however it does not make the heart grow fonder. ( oh oh mixed metaphor again!). Seriuosly though, for men the only vegan make of condom that I am aware of is Condomi ( available widespread from the Vegan Society and various dodgy mail order firms!)All others have a dairy bi-product in their manufacture. For the ladies, how many of the oral contraceptive are truly vegan? if any.And if there are any, are the manufacturers involved in animal testing? I am not sure about other forms, being such an innocent. Please discuss......Dont be shy. The Valley Vegan.... Guest guest
I was not a veggie before we had our kids, so I was on the pill for a while, and then we used condoms. After Peter was born Colin decided to have a vasectomy, so we didn't/don't have to give the matter any further thought. Guest guest
My boyfriend won't use the vegan condoms I've bought since I went off the Pill. Really irritating, but I guess he just trusts the Trojans better. At age 35, I won't go back on hormonal contraception. I think most condom mail order companies will be very discreet and not announce to all and sundry that you're ordering condoms. Of course, if your dad opens your mail, that's a problem, but he shouldn't be opening anyone else's mail anyway. I would guess that natural family planning IS vegan unless you use something during your fertile periods. The problem with that is it only works if your periods are regular and if one is willing to invest the time to chart one's bodily reactions. Danielle Sure there's a light at the end of the tunnel...I just hope it isn't an oncoming train! ----Original Message Follows---- Magick Nuts <magick_nuts Re: NEW SUBJECT FOR DISCUSSION- CONTRACEPTION Sat, 23 Aug 2003 07:53:02 -0700 (PDT) good point - i think all of the pills are not vegan and have been tested on animals, i think that there is a condome by purple ronnie thats vegan and some tesco store sell them or so i heard. but its a pain mail orderin them and also my dad wouldnt be too fond if a pack full of condoms came for me in the post - im still his little girl!!!! also if you run out do u abstain from sex til uv got more or use a different brand - hhhmmmm things like this is what make veganism so complicated has anybody tried any more natural options iv heard of some but iv forgotten them!!! think iv got a book with them in. dont know how good they are tho. swpgh01 wrote: I believe that there are a lot of vegans particularly new vegans, that have not given this subject much thought. Guest guest
Hi Jo I know that feeling! I would rather be able to pay fer my son to go to school er whatever i is he needs in life than have another and worry about food! To me Zak is enough tho. I always wanted 2-3, but after Zak was born we had a lot of problems. And we decided better to try and stay married with one, than divorced with two. Unfortunately most of the family could not understand that and to this day still ask when we will have our second. Tho becoming a vegan has taken some of that heat off. Now they just wait fer me to die from not eating meat. lol nikki In order to act wisely, it is not enough to be wise. Dostoyevsky , " Heartwork " <Heartwork@o...> wrote: > LOL! Guest guest
Hi Nikki It's strange how everyone else thinks you should have more children, isn't it? You'll have to prove them wrong, and live a long and healthy life. Jo - nikki_mackovitch Tuesday, August 26, 2003 12:28 PM Re: NEW SUBJECT FOR DISCUSSION- CONTRACEPTION Hi JoI know that feeling! Guest guest
Hi Jo > It's strange how everyone else thinks you should have more children, isn't it? I agree. It's almost as if there is no work involved to it at all. Don't get me wrong, it's a pure joy, but they make it seem as if it is natural to simply have more than one child. The funniest part is in the beginning we use to answer their inquiries with the money issue. And my in-laws response was always " Oh, you always find the money with more children " . Really? Then how come I can't find the money now? lol I am very satisfed with it being just my son. If it were to ever happen I got pregnant again, I am know I would be happy simply because it was my child. But my preferance is to have just the one. > > You'll have to prove them wrong, and live a long and healthy life. I agree! nikki
