Guest guest
are watching the litter right now are feeding the cat a raw food diet, but still feeding it meat. like raw ground beef, fish, etc etc... they are vegans, yet they swear this is the healthiest for the cats, your thoughts? It is very, very important to realise that cats are obligate carnivores, and must have various amino acids, and fairly high protien levels, which can only be met by meat based diets or vegan diets with supplementation. There are vegan supplements for cats (katz go vegan, vegan soc) and this is ok, added to a vegan diet (recipes with the supplemenst are provided). As far as the best non-vegan diet,or generally, there are arguments for raw type diets and complete tinned or dried food. Dried food is better for the teeth, and less objectionable, but no more vegan than tinned. Tinned has a higher water content, and is basically an expensive way of buying water. No experience of raw food, but difficult to ensure adequate taurine etc. The teeth on big cats fed whole carcasses are much healthier looking (ie less tartar and gingivitis)than domestic cats, but more prone to abscesses from cracking on large bones. Swings and roundabouts. People at work keep talking about Christmas!!! but it started me thinking that I should order some goodies/naughties from Dr Hadwen Trust. I usually put in an order for Christmas. Does anyone else get chocolates from there? or where do you get them? Booja Booja truffles. Midnight espresso. Mmmmm Are you in the UK? The Vegan Fair on Sunday is a good place to stock up on Redwoods (and loads of other) products. Thanks, I am in the UK, where is this? I used to like their toffee flavoured fudge.... and then they stopped doing it :-(. I agree that their regular fudge is way too sweet. Guest guest
I find most sweets too sweet now. I suppose it's because I don't eat them as much as I used to, but I've always liked dark chocolate. Guest guest
It probably would be better if sweet additives were kept to a minimum...I like the odd biscuit from time to time. Guest guest
I do like biscuits but hardly ever eat them. They always seem to give me heartburn - so I stick to the odd dark chocolate. Guest guest
HI Simon I love figs. Before I realised that I was intolerant of orange I had a desert of fresh figs in orange and brandy sauce when we ate out at the Riverside Vegetaria. It was delicious. Carob cake is nice, but I'm not so keen on the carob bars that are similar to chocolate bars. Guest guest
I love figs. Carob cake is nice, but I'm not so keen on the carob bars that are similar to chocolate bars. Is that the Vegetaria in kington? I liked the fruit salad and custard I had at the Country Life restaurant. I enjoyed a piece of home made lemon sponge a friend made a few weeks ago.
