Guest guest
We had this yummy loaf tonight for dinner. The Burger Loaf recipe came from a old SDA vegetarian fundraiser cookbook - Cooking is Caring- that our dear Donna found and shared with me. I just love that cookbook title because it really says what our cooking is saying to those we serve. I made a gravy to serve over it, which was perfect with the loaf. To make the gravy, brown some flour in a dry skillet. Make us some vegetarian " chicken " stock, by mixing 2 c. water with 2 t. MaKay's vegetarian Chicken -style seasoning powder mix. Add the stock to the browned flour. Thin if need with water. Add some onion powder and Bragg's Liquid Aminos to taste. Tip - If you have any lumps in your gravy, put into your Vita-Mix or blender and it will be velvety smooth. Burger Loaf 1 20 oz. can of Worthington Vegetarian Burger - http://www.worthingtonfoods.com/cgi-bin/brandpages/product.pl?product=423 & compan\ y=41 1 c. dried old fashioned oats(flakes) 2 eggs, beaten slightly 1 large onion, diced small 1 c. pecans, chopped 1 T. Bragg's liquid Amino's or 2 t. soy sauce 1 T. sage 1/2 t. salt 1 c. evaporated milk(canned) Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl, mixing well. Spray a 8 x 11 casserole dish or large loaf pan. and bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes for the casserole dish or 60 minutes for the large loaf pan. Serve with favorite gravy. Serves 8 - 10 * Instead of milk, you may use mushroom, celery or tomato soup, tomato puree or sauce.

Guest guest
I find it in health food stores, on Amazon and other places on the internet, and the Adventist Book Centers. The Adventist Book Centers are world wide and have wonderful health food stores in them. This is a canned product. We love it and because it is canned it is shelf stable for several years.
