I like the Tofutti brand Sour Supreme (the non-hydrogenated version) as a sour

cream substitute.  Tofutti makes Better Than Cream Cheese too.  It's really

good.  www.tofutti.com

The Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet cheese alternatives are the best.  They melt

well and taste fine.  http://www.followyourheart.com/products.php?id=26

There is also a recipe in our files for Vegan Melty Cheese that is good.  I make

a queso-like dip using that recipe (adding cumin and pickled jalapenos) often.

I am working on cutting dairy out of my diet, more for the health benefits,

(less fat), than anything. What are your favorite substitutions for basic dairy

products? I was vegetarian many years ago, but ate cheese and eggs, so I've

never dealt with this.Traci in Texas
