Guest guest
Hey,I'm planning on a nut roast with mushroom gravy, wild rice with dried cranberries and toasted walnuts, cranberry sauce, wilted kale salad, roasted asparagus, and I'll probably make crusty garlic french bread and banana-coconut pudding.I am going to my mother's to eat-she's a carnivore,so she'll make her own main dish(Turkey) but will eat the rest of what I bring. Guest guest
Mt daughter has eaten there a lot. she always enjoys GREEN - Kats5dogs Sunday, November 15, 2009 10:28 AM What will your Thanksgiving Menu be? Going to Bucca De Peppa restaurant - we are all vegetarians but they have lots of pasta and salads and vegetables there. There is also a restaurant here in Scottsdale (AZ) called " Green " that is serving a full Thanksgiving menu (vegan) that we wanted to try but will do that next year. Guest guest
At the risk of sounding lazy, I ordered a vegan meal to-go from The Chicago Diner. Dinner is at my Mom's and since I am the only vegetarian in the family I usually bring my own. The Chicago Diner offers a Thanksgiving meal with entree choices of " turkey " , " beef " wellington or pumpkin ravioli with all the trimmings. I'm picking up my " beef " wellington meal the day before Thanksgiving.
Guest guest
Last year I made some stuffing that was vegan which had canned peaches in it. I got it from Martha Stewart's TV show. I guess the this dish came from a commune back in the 60's. But they ate it with ice cream.Hummm? Wonder what they were smoken? - sue reynolds Sunday, November 15, 2009 10:32 AM What will your Thanksgiving Menu be? I'm dealing with five teenagers, two of whom are lactose intolerant, one of whom is vegetarian with refusal to eat any meat substitutes. She does not like the look or taste of anything resembling meat/fish/poultry, and is starting to have issues with visible eggs--used to be, we could fix her some really good deviled eggs for a holiday protein and let everyone have the side dishes, but this year will be a new challenge. <warning--nonvegetarian into> So---for the six omnivores, roasted turkey, bread stuffing with sausage and onions and chicken broth (vegetarian daughter also dislikes stuffing, so veggie stuffing cooked separately with veggie broth is also not an option), and maybe deviled eggs, since we like them even if she doesn't. <we now resume your normal mailing list> Broccoli, steamed, with sauteed mushrooms. baked sweet potatoes pickles, olives, and relishes maybe cornbread, maybe yeast rolls, maybe pecan-caramel cinnamon yeast rolls, maybe sliced home made bread--depends how ambitious I am on the day. hummus, stuffed grape leaves with rice filling, and baba ghanoush dip, or alternatively, layered bean dip with tortillas, refried beans, and salsa (gotta skip the sour cream or cheese on top, due to lactose problems and the other daughter with lactose problems not liking veggie slices) Sue in Wausau. Maybe I should just make baked beans instead....?

Guest guest
I'm sounding (and feeling!) lazy, too. We have two Thanksgivings to attend, so there will be all the normal turkey stuff since I am the only vegetarian on both sides of our family. I just put veggie-friendly things on my plate and hope nobody notices so I don't ONCE AGAIN have to explain myself. I'll take a dish to each get together, and I normally take a vegetable or dessert. Guest guest
> If you are in the US, what are you planning to > have on your Thanksgiving dinner menu? US ~ state of Jefferson ~ The menu will be: Quorn Roast Tofurky Mushroom Giblet Gravy Easy Vegetarian Stuffing Garlic Mashed Potatoes Cooked Squash Corn Green Bean Casserole Rolls Pies [not sure which types yet] > Do you enjoy any of the turkey analogs out on > the market for vegetarians? Only the Quorn brand roast for me. Tried the Tofurky brand one year but it didn't agree with my digestion. Love the Tofurky gravy though! I will post my recipes for the stuffing later. ~ PT ~ ....don't seek to become free of desire or to " achieve " enlightenment. Become present.
