Guest guest
hiya guys. i have been a vegetarian for about 12 years. i just had my fourth child last month who is having some digestive issues whom i breastfeed. i am doing an elimination diet right now to see if there is something i am eating that is causing his distress and bloody stool. the elimination diet pretty much cuts out everything a vegetarian holds dear! no dairy, no eggs, no soy, no dark leafy greens, no peppers, no onions, no caffeine, no chocolate, no beans, no tomatoes, most grains, citrus fruit....the list goes on and on. i am to be on this for 2 weeks and then start adding one element in at a time each week to see if that is what is affecting him. right now i am at a loss for how i am going to keep myself sustained for these two weeks, especially in the protein area. any suggestions and menu ideas?! Guest guest
Is this elimination diet prescribed by your doctor or a lactation consultant? My youngest child had digestive issues when we were breastfeeding, and eliminating dairy for several months did the trick. And the results were almost immediate. Depending on the severity of your child's symptoms, I might consider cutting out just dairy for a week first, then if things don't get better do the entire elimination diet. , " jami " <jamijamlyn wrote: > > hiya guys. > > i have been a vegetarian for about 12 years. i just had my fourth child last month who is having some digestive issues whom i breastfeed. i am doing an elimination diet right now to see if there is something i am eating that is causing his distress and bloody stool. > > the elimination diet pretty much cuts out everything a vegetarian holds dear! no dairy, no eggs, no soy, no dark leafy greens, no peppers, no onions, no caffeine, no chocolate, no beans, no tomatoes, most grains, citrus fruit....the list goes on and on. > > i am to be on this for 2 weeks and then start adding one element in at a time each week to see if that is what is affecting him. > > right now i am at a loss for how i am going to keep myself sustained for these two weeks, especially in the protein area. > > any suggestions and menu ideas?! >
