Guest guest
You bet it counts. There are many reasons people can't adopt pets but remembering to help the ones at the shelters is a much appreciated act of kindness. I made 3 trips taking towels, bedding and blankets there today. Guest guest
My wife volunteers several days a week at the local animal shelter, walking dogs, showing them to people interested in them, etc. We also give donations to them. Today she drove one to the vet for a checkup, getting rid of fleas, ticks and more. They also shaved the dog because they couldn't get all the burrs out without doing so. It obviously had been on its own for a while. She said shaving its hair cut its width in half. It was pretty skinny. Guest guest
I am studying Tellington TTouch (a body work that balances an animal physically & mentally). I work at our shelter twice a week volunteering time to do TTouch on the animals there. It helps them be more peaceful and also more adoptable. I love the work and the shelter was the perfect solution for having lots of dogs with different concerns to work with....and they benefit too. Win-win.
