Guest guest
There is a really yummy new brand of lactose-free cow's milk called " Valio Real Goodness " . Do you have that where you are? But the recipe I have calls for milk, I don't ever have milk on hand(lactose intolerant). do you think I could use soy, oat, or hemp milk? Or should I get a wee tiny container of cows milk? Guest guest
I think you should try an other recipe instead, here's two recipe without milk: http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/2791/sourdough-bread.aspx http://www.channel4.com/food/recipes/chefs/hugh-fearnley-whittingstall/river-cot\ tage-sourdough-recipe_p_1.html The recipes for sourdough bread I'm used to have never had any kind of milk in it. If you absolutely have to use milk I think oat milk would be the best choice. /Helga havingagreatfulday wrote: > > > I have always wanted to try to make sourdough bread. Guest guest
I think a little hemp milk might work well, since hemp has a kind of sour, nutty taste. I used to get hempseed bread at Whole Foods and it reminded me of a lot of sourdough. Otherwise, I think any plain / original flavored soy or oat milk would work well. There's really no reason to add dairy milk to soughdough... or anything. --- > I have always wanted to try to make sourdough bread.
