Guest guest
I'm sorry if this is OT. I'm new to vegetarianism and still learning. I feel like I eat a well balanced diet and have even lost some weight. I eat whole grains, different types of protein, lots of veggies, fresh fruit and plenty of water... but I am getting headaches! Tips? Should I be more conscious of a certain type of food I should be getting in? Should I be taking a multivitamin of some kind (what kind do you reccomend?) Is this because I am newly veg and my body is adjusting or what? Should I increase my water? I already drink the reccomended amount. Thanks
Guest guest
First, congratulations and welcome! Second, this is not to be construed as medical advice, blah blah blah, just my personal experience when going from an omnivorous diet to vegetarian. I was sick as a dog while my body was getting rid of all the chemicals and crap from meats. (Sorry, unintentional but true) Even now, after over 23 years now, when I get ahold of chemically inhanced veggies, my body reacts unfortunately. I also have fibromyalgia, osteo and rheumatoid arthritis so on top of that, when I get full of chemical gunk - ugh. That said, if it continues, hie thee to the doctor and make sure you are getting enough protein and vitamins. Jeanne in GA
Guest guest
What type of headaches? My husband and his family have always sufferred from cluster headaches and severe migraines (I mean severe - vision loss, stroke like symptoms etc.)... My husband and his family are not vegetarian. At home (at least) he eats mostly unprocessed foods as natural as can be and as organic or local as can be. He does have a tendency to get dehyrdated and now knows symptoms of dehydration. I try to purchase seasonal items.  He does experience migraines when he is stressed, lack of sleep or eats something processed (excess salt, nitrates, or cured). He will experience headaches when he is dehydrated. My sisters in law experience cluster headaches when they are experiencing hormonal changes.  My suggestion is to keep a food diary. Note what you are consuming and how you feel through out the day. This may help.  Best of health to you.
