Guest guest Posted October 11, 2009 Report Share Posted October 11, 2009 Nutty Apple Crisp a.. 5 cups thinly sliced apples b.. 2 tablespoons lemon juice c.. 1/4 cup water d.. 1 t. pumpkin pie spice e.. 1/2 cup all-purpose flour f.. 1/2 cup rolled oats g.. 1 cup packed brown sugar h.. 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg i.. 1 pinch salt j.. 1/2 cup Smart Balance Light with Flax seed oil spread, softened k.. 1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts DIRECTIONS 1.. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2.. Toss apples with lemon juice, pumpkin pie spice and water in a shallow 2 quart baking dish( 8 x 11 casserole dish). 3.. In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, sugar, nutmeg, and salt. Mix to blend thoroughly. Cut in the Smart Balance Light with Flax Seed Oil Spread until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in walnuts. Crumble over apples to cover completely. 4.. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until top is lightly browned. Serve warm or at room temperature.
