Guest guest
That does sound good. We don't often go to TGIF because there is so little I can eat there, but next time I go, I will have the Shanghai salad. If they don't reduce the price to leave off the pot stickers, I can always give them to a nearby carnevore. The manager reduced the price by $2.49 by not adding the meat. Oh my word! Was it ever wonderful! It had chopped romaine lettuce, red peppers, celery, green onions, cilantro and peanuts tossed together in a zesty Asian Ginger dressing then topped with crispy noodles. Guest guest
That's amazing because I just called TGIF to ask if any of their soups were vegetarian and they said no. So I said you do not have 1 item on your menu that is vegetarian and they said that is correct. I refuse to go to a place that can't even have 1 simple item to eat. You can't make tomato basil soup vegetarian? Ridiculous. I was hoping to get their soup salad and breadstick lunch. --- On Mon, 12/14/09, Katie <cozycate wrote: Katie <cozycate Re: A delicious Salad from TGIF Monday, December 14, 2009, 11:46 PM  That does sound good. We don't often go to TGIF because there is so little I can eat there, but next time I go, I will have the Shanghai salad. If they don't reduce the price to leave off the pot stickers, I can always give them to a nearby carnevore. Guest guest
We had the same problem so that is why I asked them if they would not put the meat on and if they could reduce the price. The server asked the manager and he said no problem and approved a $2.49 price reduction. I agree, they do need to add vegetarian items to the menu. I did find out that the spinach artichoke dip didn't have chicken broth in it, so we ordered that and another one of us ordered a baked potato covered in steamed broccoli and cheese. That was about all we could order, since they don't have a dedicated fryer for onion rings and french fries(they fry them in the same oil as meat products). - Laura Schauble Tuesday, December 15, 2009 9:24 AM Re: A delicious Salad from TGIF That's amazing because I just called TGIF to ask if any of their soups were vegetarian and they said no. Guest guest
That just shows that we need to remember to ask about vegetarian options in restaurants, instead of assuming there aren't any! My group at work had our Christmas party at an upscale, trendy restaurant in town and I was worried (don't go to many upscale restaurants!) -- so I called the restaurant at 9 am one morning, thinking they wouldn't be busy at that time. The lady who answered the phone was really nice and went through the menu, explaining what I could get off the menu and have it with no meat or add tofu. Turns out that restaurant has a vegetarian chef and so they have a separate grill for vegetables, even! I had a great meal. I agree about TGI Fridays... not much there. Even when they had a portobello mushroom sandwich, I wasn't too impressed with it. Chili's, on the other hand, has that great black bean burger and Applebee's salads are pretty darn good without the meat -- my favorite is their southwest salad. Guest guest
My girlfriend and I loved their garden burgers. Then they took it off but replaced with something. About a year ago, nothing! 5 of us went to dinner to find out. We had a few appetizers and drinks and left.   I'm not a fan of spicy foods but Applebee's has a great veggie burger for $6.49 --- On Wed, 12/16/09, Audrey Snyder <AudeeBird wrote: Audrey Snyder <AudeeBird Re: A delicious Salad from TGIF Wednesday, December 16, 2009, 6:56 AM  That just shows that we need to remember to ask about vegetarian options in restaurants, instead of assuming there aren't any!
