Whole Foods Organic foods - from China *I find this very disappointing that this is happening. When the olympics were in China, there were some shows on pertaining to life in China and such. One thing that struck me horribly was when they were filming a major water supply/river and it was beyond NASTY. Their drinking water came from a simple filtering of that water that didn't remove much of anything so they were consuming tainted water. They also said the whole country's water supply was toxic/polluted. Now we have food coming from there that has been grown, processed and such with polluted water. I know this is a veg group, but reality is that m**t is watered with this toxic water and sent to the US. Crops are grown being irrigated with the same water. They are processing canned and bottled foods with tainted water. I find this whole situation to be totally abhorrent. I also find it interesting that the US has such a negative opinion of fresh/raw milk and even fresh eggs and yet the same people think nothing of eating toxic prepared foods from other countries. It's not just China either. There's a lot of tainted food that originates in Mexico too. I hope that I'm not offending anyone with the mention of 3 foods that many here don't consume. My intention isn't to offend you but to help provide further enlightening of our food supply over all, and how it's not as pure or easy as eliminating an item from our diet, as we very well may eliminate something to only consume more from an even worse source. Guest guest
Well said, Shar. It also bothers me that the US strangles the necks of US farmers but accepts much less desirable growing conditions elsewhere .... and under the disguise that they can't get to every farm to inspect it. So, inspect and choke the foreign farms first. Nevertheless, this is the case. Guest guest
We don't have a Whole Foods near us but I have a trip planned to visit one soon. I always read the labels and do not buy anything from China. Thanks for the heads up on this one. Audrey
Guest guest
I find this to be very disturbing! China is poisoning food products and yet we still do buisness with them. We should be promoting our local farmers and their practices. At least then we will KNOW where our food comes from. , wwjd <jtwigg wrote: > > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQ31Ljd9T_Y & feature=player_embedded > > Buyer > beware.
