I make mine with milk, though. It's great over slightly dry bean burgers or veggie loaf slices,. Nice on pasta or rice or buttered toast, too. Try it on a baked potato with grated cheese. Um! Here is the basic bean burger recipe I use. I make additions or substitutions at will so I rarely come out with the same product twice. Mostly I use whatever I have at hand. I rarely have fresh bell peppers, but I use dried ones often, Other things I might add include minced onion, garlic, ketchup, soy sauce, MYO Kitchen Bouquet (for color), or anything else that might appeal to me at the moment (i.e., chili powder and oregano for a Mexican theme). I don't add all of them, just what strikes me at the time. Lately I've been adding grated carrot to increase the moisture. I often use lentils or black beans instead of pintos. Any bean will do. I always bake my burgers rather than fry them. Just make sure you rub them with oil first. >Bean Burgers >2 c cooked pinto beans >1 c cooked brown rice >2 eggs >½ c whole wheat flour >Salt, pepper, seasoning salt to taste >In a large bowl combine all the above ingredients. This is good basic meatless loaf which can be varied as easily as the burgers. Just use your imagination remembering that you need to keep it at a certain density to stay together and not be crumbly. >VEGETARIAN MEATLOAF >Makes 6 servings. >3/4 cup dry brown lentils >1/2 cup uncooked brown rice >1/2 cup wheat germ >1 1/2 cups dry bread crumbs >2 eggs >1 large onion, chopped >1 teaspoon dried thyme >1/3 cup crushed tomatoes >2 teaspoons hot sauce >2 tablespoons ketchup >1 tablespoon soy sauce >1/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese >Heat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
