Guest guest
-Hi all! Does anyone know of a vegan, organic, Oxybenzone & Paraben free sunscreen? I have a feeling I'm going to have to compromise something in my quest. On that note, although WAY out of my price range ($36 for 2 oz.) http://www.marieveronique.net/shop/product.php?productid=4 & cat=45 & page=1 <http://www.marieveronique.net/shop/product.php?productid=4 & cat=45 & page=\ 1> I've found this so far: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/product.php?prod_id=207545 <http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/product.php?prod_id=207545> (great website, by the way) It seems like more of a " repair serum " to me, as opposed to an all over sunscreen, unfortunately. Has anyone used this, & if so would you mind sharing your experience with it? The only questionable (vegan?) ingredients I can see would be the vitamin E & the allantonin, as they could be animal sourced. It claims to be vegetarian, so I'll be e-mailing the company directly as well to ask my questions. Then there were these, though not organic..... http://www.mexitan.com/ <http://www.mexitan.com/> HELP!!!! Thanks for any direction in advance! Guest guest
The Environmental Working Group (the folks who publish the guide to pesticides in produce) maintain a database of bodycare products. You can check the safety of products and ingredients: www.ewg.org ________________________________ kimberlyire <kimberlyire Saturday, June 13, 2009 3:02:57 PM Sunscreens -Hi all! Guest guest
This year, I'm going to pick up some long sleeve SPF bathingsuit tops (since it's usually my back/neck/shoulders that I tend to miss. There's a few cute options out there - and I think I should be able to wear them with no problems over my current suit (though I also have the tank-ini type of 2 piece so I could also wear the bottoms of those instead if it doesn't work with my suit.). Like something like these: www.coolibar.com (I had a few more links but that's probably where I will get one). missie On Sun, Jun 14, 2009 at 5:07 PM, Christina Weyrick-Cooper<cwhy1 wrote: > > > > We use California Baby and love it. > > > kimberlyire > Sat, 13 Jun 2009 20:02:57 +0000 > Sunscreens > > -Hi all! > > Does anyone know of a vegan, organic, Oxybenzone & Paraben free > > sunscreen? Guest guest
Hi Kimberly! How are you? Don’t know if you’ve been following this similar thread on the SDNF list (another list Kimberly and I are on), but Anne S-D, the herbalist, was talking about using different oils as a sun screen, and how diet really is a skin protector, too – and recently gave a list of ingredients for homemade sun screen that I think her brother (?) made. You could check those archives. And you could always use our sun screen plan – don’t go outside between 11am and 1pm . . . I know, not too practical sometimes, and we don’t stick to it all the time either (evidenced by some pink noses around here lately), but it does help if we can pull it off. ☺ Best of luck!
