Guest guest
I know this subject isn't directly related to vegetarianism but . . . After staying up late last night cleaning the grout on my shower floors and walls with a toothbrush and dish detergent, I realized that there must be an easier, green method for cleaning it that people in this might use. Thanks for any tips!
Guest guest
This is what we use for most cleaning (initially used as part of my daughter's 6th grade science fair project). It is cheap (my favorite) and non-toxic. 1/4 cup white vinegar 3/4 cup warm tap water 1 tablespoon baking soda 10 drops of tea tree oil (antibacterial, antifungal, etc.) 2 drops oil of lavender (optional) (antiseptic and smells nice)For extra scrubbing, I make a paste with salt, baking soda and vinegar. I still use an old toothbrush to clean the bathroom... ________________________________ " admartin5 " <admartin5 Monday, June 22, 2009 7:10:23 AM Looking for An Easier " Green " Way to Clean Grout I know this subject isn't directly related to vegetarianism but . . . Guest guest
For scrubbing, I use ACV (apple cider vinegar) and baking soda. For straight cleaning/scrubbing I make a paste out of baking soda and water, and leave it on, and then scrub (good for oven spills, too, I let it sit and then pour the vinegar onto it to foam and usually it gets everything) When I don't have the ACV I use white vinegar. I also add Tea tree oil, lavender oil and sometimes (to cut grease more) I'll put in sweet orange oil too. I use it for cleaning my floors, scrubbing the stove, the tub and the commode. I also use an old toothbrush for getting in tight areas.
