Guest guest
I have been battling with the teen over breakfasts. It seems like she is pickier now than she was at 3! She leave a little after 6, so breakfast has to be portable. She will no longer eat beans in the morning (I don't know why); today I made oatmeal with blueberries, and she ate one bite, etc. She loves bao; I have never made them, but we pick up frozen ones once in a while. If anyone has a TNT recipe, please post it.
Guest guest
Hi, I've never eaten bao, but how about smoothies for breakfast - fast & portable. I have one every day with various fruits, including all kinds of frozen berries, bananas, watermelon, pineapple, etc., plus some pomegranate juice plus a little tofu if I'm not eating oatmeal. The other major ingredient is greens - spinach, kale, bok choy, etc. which you cannot taste with all the fruit but adds super nutrition. They can be made thin or thick - the variety is endless. Good luck with the bao, too!
Guest guest
Thank you for the suggestion. I never heard of a 14 year old going through a picky phase, but right now she is worse than when she was two and only ate hummus and frozen peas and blueberries. This is our 3rd year of early morning breakfasts to go, and smoothies are just one of our regular breakfasts that she won't touch (though they are fine after school). I bought a box of frozen bao, and she has been eating them; I would prefer to make them myself. I have a couple of recipes, but nothing TNT ________________________________ " JMyers1050 " <JMyers1050 Monday, September 14, 2009 2:17:35 PM Re: Bao recipes? Guest guest
Robin, I haven't tried these myself and you've probably already seen this in your searches, but this looks to be a good recipe that is very open to improvisation: http://veglicious.blogspot.com/2007/06/bao-fest.html Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Marla, I do have this link, I was just hoping to learn from someone else's experience. I will probably try it this weekend; I will let everyone know how it goes. Robin ________________________________ Marla Rose <marla Tuesday, September 15, 2009 8:23:13 AM Re: Re: Bao recipes?
