Guest guest
Wow, I can't imagine being picked on for lunches.... my kids' friends ages (13, 9 and 5) all think my kids' lunches are COOL. We use the laptop lunch box systems and I fill the little containers up with yummy foods like: tortillas with salsa, sliced vegetables and dip, yogurt and cereal, rice and stir fry leftovers, apricots/prunes/almonds, rye bread sandwiches, pitas stuffed with tofu spread (looks like egg salad) and greens, pieces of fruit, fruit smoothies, etc. Check out their website for information. http://www.laptoplunches.com/
Guest guest
How old is your son? Have you checked out Jennifer McCann's Vegan Lunchbox book? She has a new one that has more ethnic dishes. Her blog is good too for ideas:http://veganlunchbox.blogspot.com/ --- On Mon, 10/19/09, sejal mody <sejalmody wrote: sejal mody <sejalmody Kid being picked on - Ideas for Lunch Monday, October 19, 2009, 10:51 AM Any ideas on lunch, my son is being picked on school since he is a vegetarian. Guest guest
My mother-in-law had this same problem with my husband when he was little. She said that they gave him a big bag of popcorn in his lunchbox (with enough to share) and he became a hit with the kids. He remembers people asking to share his lunch all the time from that point on. They weren't vegan at the time so his popcorn had butter and salt on it but it might be an option. Guest guest
How old is he? When my daughter was in elementart school we had the same problem. So I got creative. I bought star and heart sandwich cutters, which everyone including my daughter thought was totally cool. The focus went from what her sandwich was made of to what it looked like. I also did sandwich wraps with a colored tortilla as the wrap then I put in peanut butter and honey and rasins or whatever dried fruit that I had, granola, basiclly I just got creative and made sure that the wraps were colorful. I hope this helps Tanya --- On Mon, 10/19/09, sejal mody <sejalmody wrote: sejal mody <sejalmody Kid being picked on - Ideas for Lunch Monday, October 19, 2009, 7:51 AM Any ideas on lunch, my son is being picked on school since he is a vegetarian.
