Lentils and Rice

Greetings!

 

I'm looking for a vegan recipe for a sauce that would be good over

lentils and rice (or potatoes). I was making it with a tahini sauce

but the recipe I have has lost its flare. Any other ideas?

a chunky tomato sauce is good with lentils, best over the potatoes I think, or

even pasta

Funny I just made stuffed peppers tonight with lentils and rice.  I added canned

tomato sauce and it was delicious!  I agree that tomato sauce goes great with

lentils/rice.  I can see a lemony/olive oil/garlic dressing too....

Melty Vegan White Cheese Sauce

11/3 c. water

1/4 c. nutritional yeast flakes

1/4 c. oats

2T tahini

11/2 t. cornstarch

2 t fresh lemon juice

1 t salt

1/4 t garlic granules

Blend all ingredients till smooht. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly

with a whisk, until sauce is thick and smooth.

 

Sofrito

 

4 onions, quartered

4 heads of garlic

4 Italian light green peppers; seeded and stemmed

1 sm jar green olives( no pits)

1 sm. can red sweet peppers

1 bunch cilantro

1 bunch parsley

1 sm. can sweet green peppers

salt and pepper to taste

1 pkg sazon( puerto Rican spice Blend- can find in Latin markets)

Blend all ingredients with enough water to make a thin paste. Store in jars in

refrigerator or freezer. Add by tablespoons to dishes after cooking.
