Guest guest
I am the Room Mom for my daughter's Montessori class and I am trying to come up with a good craft idea for our Winter Party next Thursday. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. The Fall party a mom had donated the foam stickers and things from Michael's, which was lots of fun, but I had serectly hoped to make a wreath for the classroom using things in nature that we would find at the park. The park we are going to for this party isn't as nature-y, so I'm not sure that will work as well. Anyway, I figured this creative group would be best to ask Cassie
Guest guest
Cassie, I actually have several ideas for you. I just started a vegetarian youth group actually and I have lots of crafts planned. We are going to decorate a wildlife tree in January, using pine cones spreading them with peanut butter and rolling them in seed as well as hollowing out orange rinds and filling them with seed, nuts, and dried fruits. You might want to avoid peanut butter in the school though for allergy reasons. Also, we are going to be making cat toys for the local animal shelters. You just take some colorful socks or tights put little plastic practice golf balls inside and tie knots in between the golf balls to look like snakes-pretty cute. Also, if you want to use paint, every year I paint my son's hand or foot, make an impression on some paper and make ornaments out of them. One year I painted his hand white and when you turn it upside down it looked like Santa's beard. I just then painted eyes and a hat etc. above the hand print. The next year I did a green footprint and then added a star at the heel part to look like a Christmas tree. This year I painted the fingers black and the palm brown and it looked like a reindeer (I just painted on eyes and a nose). Also you could get buttons and make snowmen out of the buttons by gluing them to construction paper (that was a big hit this year with my 2 1/2 year old). We used three white buttons for the body and then colored buttons for hats or earmuffs. Then used markers to draw on scarves, boots, arms, sleds etc. Hope these ideas are helpful, enjoy! -Dawn ________________________________ Cassie Dixon <roxy87cabriolet veg parents Thu, December 10, 2009 10:18:06 PM OT:craft ideas I am the Room Mom for my daughter's Montessori class and I am trying to come up with a good craft idea for our Winter Party next Thursday. Guest guest
One other idea- a wreath made out of handprints cut out of construction paper, glued to a paper plate with the middle cut out for the wreath form. I've also made Christmas trees this way (minus the paper plate). You can't go wrong with handprint crafts... j. ________________________________ Cassie Dixon <roxy87cabriolet " " Sat, December 12, 2009 9:49:12 AM Re: OT:craft ideas  Thanks a bunch! Cute ideas!
