Hi everyone,

My daughter, now 15 mo, is a picky eater. We are vegan and the only thing I can

get her to eat every time is beans! I want her to have more raw food but she

does not like much fruit and most raw food is very hard... with only 8 teeth in

front it is difficult. Even apples are hard for her to eat. And usually she

will not eat food that is mushed. So an ideas?

Many thanks,

Elisa

Elisa -- have you tried grating apples? You can also do that with carrots,

and any other hard fruits and veggies. Also, she might enjoy drinking

smoothies.

I make smoothies every day and she sometimes take a few sips/bites but mostly

not. She just started eating small pieces of apple. I have not tried grating

other things, but I will, it is worth a shot. Right now all she wants are beans

and hummus with bread.

thnaks for the suggestions, I will go to your blog too for myself :)

What about a really ripe mango or pear? My kids also went for frozen fruit. You

could try frozen bluberries, banana even peas too.

Best of luck,

My boys love small pieces of cut up raw fruit with toothpicks for fun/easy

picking up and with a dip.  You could have her dip it in some soy yogurt or

something?  Soft fruits would probably work best - cut grapes in 1/2, pears,

peaches, mango, banana.

As far as veggies, I have trouble with that too.  My boys will eat brocolli and

salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, carrots, celery) and that's it.  Again, maybe

giving her some dip??

It will get easier as she gets older and can eat more things.

Good luck!

Thank you all for the suggestions! She can't eat the frozen stuff yet but I am

trying the other ideas and I cant wait for those big back teeth! Now I am

starting to think she is just picky, LOL! But I will keep making trying all the

time, sometimes she goes for it. Last night I made a pizza sauce with garlic,

pine nuts, tomatoes and basil. It was so strong uncooked because of the garlic,

and she like that. who knows :) elisa
