Guest guest
Hi Everyone, For the Gluten Free Country Style Gravy recipe, would it be possible to substitute raw pumpkin sees for the raw cashews? Cashews are expensive and I have raw pumpkin seeds. Thanks, Danielle
Guest guest
Hi Danielle, I dont think pumpkin seeds would make a good gravy but then I have never tried this out. Sunflower seeds are less expensive than cashews and are a good substitute. Can you get cashew pieces i.e. broken cashews where you are. They are usually a little cheaper than the whole nuts. , " DMHS " <dhsellers wrote: > > Hi Everyone, > > For the Gluten Free Country Style Gravy recipe, would it be possible > to substitute raw pumpkin sees for the raw cashews? I paid just over $2 a pound the other day Sherene --http://homeschooledtwins.blogspot.com
Guest guest
Have you tried any of road's end organics gravy? http://www.roadsendorganics.com/gravy.itml They are inexpensive (for GF), easy, and really good. I'm not big on gravy but I use their products occasionally. They do contain soy though, if that's an issue for you. If not, I recommend giving them a try. The shiitake mushroom is really good! Guest guest
Thanks, Jae. It does not state that the tamari power is GF. Can't risk that. I think I found a recipe in the files I can use. I am not big on gravy, but my husband is, so I thought I would make something we can both eat, in case I decide to try it. Thanks again, Danielle ________________________________ Jae Jones <recyclednew Tuesday, November 18, 2008 12:03:57 PM Re: gravy question Have you tried any of road's end organics gravy? http://www.roadsend organics. com/gravy. itml They are inexpensive (for GF), easy, and really good. Guest guest
The packaging is marked GF and Vegan. I never had a problem with them, but if you have concerns, you could call the company to be sure. Whatever you choose, I hope you have a great meal that everybody can enjoy safely! Guest guest
Road's End has both an organics and a gluten-free line so check that packaging. We carry the Golden Gravy Mix from Road's End Organics and it is definitely gluten-free. We check with our suppliers once a quarter to verify that it remains GF. Here's a link where you can see the package and read the ingredients and their plant conditions etc. I personally got this information from them this summer when I was doing the summer quarter allergen check. http://www.allergygrocery.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD & Product_Code=18\ 13 & Category_Code=RoadsEndOrganics & Product_Count=1 If that truncates, copy the whole and paste it into your browser or got to www.allergygrocer.com then the products button, then on the left had side search by manufacture and choose Road's End Organics. We only carry three items from them so the gravy isn't hard to find that way either. :-) BL On Wed, Nov 19, 2008 at 12:51 PM, Jae Jones <recyclednew wrote:
