Guest guest
Welcome to the list, Kali. I suppose I should apologize for my english as well, since I am from the United States and we pretty much have butchered that language. *lol* But seriously, your english is fine and probably better than most of ours here, since we aren't even trying to get it right anymore. I hope you enjoy your stay here and get some useful information and feedback for the website you are working on. ~ PT ~ There is a fountain of youth: it is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of the people you love.Ê When you learn to tap this source, you will have truly defeated age. ~ Sophia Loren ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~> , Kali Kamir <kalikamir05> wrote: > Hello All, > i'm very happy to be part of this group. Guest guest
Starting out is full of temptation for yummy food that are no good for you! My best advice starting out is seek out alternatives to the foods your going to crave so you can safely satisfy that craving. Second, when eating out, say " No bread, croutons, or any wheat products and No cheese or dairy dressings, and No eggs on my salad " at least 3 times. Occasionally they will still screw it up, but you have a greater chance of getting it the way you want/need it to be. And last piece of advice, don't cheat! You only hurt yourself by eating bad for you foods! The consequences just aren't worth it! This is a great group for ideas, support and encouragement. So ask anything, talk about anything, and make your journey fun and full of new friends who understand! Welcome! Guest guest
Welcome Janet! My advice, since you asked, is to keep on reading... everything you can find on the topic. There is a lot to learn! It's important to become familiar with all the " hidden " sources of gluten and watch out for those things, read labels when deciding whether to buy something. The general rule is " When in doubt, say no " to avoid setting yourself back. Rather, choose to eat something of which you are sure. If you find out later that the substance in question is actually safe, great. Now you know for sure. There are lots of good sources of information on the net regarding gluten intolerance, and one of the best known manifestations of it, called " celiac " disease. All celiacs are gluten intolerant but not everyone who is gluten intolerant is celiac. You catch my drift? :-) Also, keep a journal of what you eat and how you feel. This will help you identify any other dietary intolerances, as many people have more than one or two. I find this list very valuable, lots of open discussion about discoveries and successes! Please keep in touch. All the best... Deborah Hello, I wanted to introduce myself, and thank you all for the wonderful information, I hve been able to read so far. I have switiched to a vegan diet for a few months love it!!! But had a health scare and did some reshearch and found a gluten free diet may help. So the journey beginssssss. I would appriecate any advice or words of wisdom for a beginer.Cheers Janet .
