Is there anyone in the group who follows macrobiotic principles in his/her

diet as well as being gluten-free? How about soy-free as well? I'd love to

talk to you if you're out there. :)

I'm gf, vegan and--for the last month--soy-free, rice-free, corn-free and

legume-free. I'm also very interested in the macrobiotic principles, though I

don't always follow them to the letter.

Sally, I was strictly macrobiotic in the late '70s and early '80s ...

even taught macro cooking for a couple of years ... before I knew I

had celiac disease. Although I continue to follow some of the

macrobiotic principles for creating balance (eating in season, eating

what is appropriate for my health condition, etc.), I can't really

follow a strict macro diet now as it is too grain-based for me; I

don't do well with grains anymore except for quinoa and occasional

brown rice. There was too much salt for me, too (tamari, miso, sea

salt). Found out I am salt-sensitive ... it raises my blood pressure

terribly.

I'm not soy-free ... I still consume small amounts of tofu, tempeh,

and soy milk.
