Guest guest
I *just* purchased a gf (and casien/corn/soy/egg free) sourdough recipe pack (based on the ideas in places like Nourishing Traditions and Wild Fermentation) from here: http://www.sanctuary-healing.com/food-as-medicine.html Here is the description for those interested: >>>The Art of Gluten-Free Sourdough Baking Highly digestible gluten-free sourdough breads, muffins, pancakes and cakes. These recipes are excellent for people with multiple food allergies. No gluten, milk, eggs, soy, baking powder, baking soda or yeast!<<< I haven't made anything just yet but thought I would share! Guest guest
That's very interesting! I just bought Living Well Without Wheat, because I had heard there was a good gluten-free sourdough recipe in it. Imagine my disappointment when the recipe had yeast in it and tons of eggs in the other recipes. I'm sure they're good gluten-free recipes if you aren't also dealing with other allergies or restrictions, but... I'll check out the link you sent. Thanks! --Shawn
Guest guest
I was looking into her site and emailed asking about her grains. Can you tell me what she is using for her flour mix...am having a hard time finding ones that we like....sorghum is out for us and that seems to be everyone's favorite. Thanks Ronni > I *just* purchased a gf (and casien/corn/soy/egg free) sourdough recipe pack (based on the ideas in places like Nourishing Traditions and Wild Fermentation) from here: http://www.sanctuary-healing.com/food-as-medicine.html > > Here is the description for those interested: > > >>>The Art of Gluten-Free Sourdough Baking > Highly digestible gluten-free sourdough breads, muffins, pancakes and cakes. Guest guest
Lauren, have you---or has anyone else in the group---tried out the sourdough mix that this website sells yet? I'm curious how it came out, if so. Guest guest
HI Ronni, Just wanted to let you know that I have a few different types of bread recipes in my recipe package. The first successful loaf recipe is posted on my blog. It contains sorghum which I am no longer using for my breads. I became sensitive to it and had to start all over. The rest of the recipes in the package are using brown rice sourdough starter as a base with quinoa flour, flax seed, and occasionally arrowroot. NO gums, eggs, dairy, yeast, sweeteners beynd stevia (but it's not necessary), soy or baking powder/soda (keeps the sodium level low) I am currently working on more recipes that hopefully will accomodate people with quinoa and rice allergies which I will post to buyers as they become properly tested. Guest guest
HI Shawn, Just wanted to let you know that my gluten free sourdough recipe package does not use eggs, yeast, sweeteners, dairy, gums or baking soda/powder (keeps sodium level low). More and more people are learning to utilize my recipes and bake tasty breads for themselves and their families. The techniques are not hard, just a bit different. I am working on recipes for people with quinoa and rice allergies and will post them to recipe package buyers as they become ready.
