I have a recipe for bread that calls for milk powder. I've been using soy milk

powder for it without any problem, but my supplier has dried up. I'm looking for

a quality substitute for it. I tried ground almonds, and that worked well, but

it seems to bother my husband. I can't get good cashews (can't afford it

anyway), so that's out. Any other ideas?

Thanks!

Better the Milk Rice Milk Powder, Vance's Dari-Free Potato Milk

Powder, or simple use liquid milk by replacing the milk powder with

extra tapioca starch and instead of water use the non-dairy milk.

I've never seen either of those powders. I wonder if they're not available in

Canada. The milk idea is excellent though. Thanks!

Dari-Free has a Canadian distributor (I am in Canada). If you go to

the Vance's website, they have a link to their international

distributors. I think the Canadian distrib will even send you a

sample.

You might be able to get away with tapioca starch - Carol Fenster has used this

in the past as a non-dairy skim milk powder replacement.

I always used Barbara's dehydrated potato flakes instead of milk

powder. it worked fabulously. Now that they have discontinued the line

I am looking for dehydrated potato flakes again
