" ...vitamin B-12, which is important in energy metabolism, is found only in

animal products. "

I know I have read that B-12 is available some where else, isn't it? I didn't

realize it is important for energy metabolism.

many foods are now fortified with B-12 - some brands of nutritional

yeast, a lot of soy milk, soy products, cereals, etc. All non-animal.

B12 is found in nutritional yeast and in spirulina, but they're not reliable

or concentrated sources. Vegans and extreme vegetarians, IMNSHO, absolutely

should supplement with a liquid, or sublingual tablet.

Any veg*n website will support this, and have the research sources to back

it up.

Anyone who tried to go vegan but failed around 5 years most likely failed

because they weren't taking b12. The body's store of it will typically run

out in 4-6 years.

It's crucial for many other things besides metabolism.

It is found in non animal sources. Tempeh, nutritional yeast are a couple.
