Oooh, quinoa flour! Here are some web pages that have recipes using it:

I love Bob's Redmill recipes:

http://www.bobsredmill.com/recipe/ingredient.php?pid=285

http://www.quinoa.bigstep.com/generic0.html

http://www.recipenet.org/health/recipes/recipkit/quinoa_applesauce_cake.htm

I'm sure more diligent searching could find more recipes.

-Sharon,

I checked the Redmill site and found what looks like the perfect

Quinoa cracker recipe. I love making crackers. They are so

inexpensive and easy to make. Thanks

Let us know how the crackers turn out! I have quinoa and I have a flour

mill, so I could easily make quinoa flour if I had the right recipe.

I broke my toe today, so I've been hobbling around with a

purple-grape-like swelling on my driving foot, but I still managed to

make a batch of barley tabbouleh. I use the excellent brown rice

tabbouleh recipe in our files but I substitute barley. That was the

most I could manage - I spent most the evening with my foot elevated

over my head. :-)

I mix some quinoa in with my wheat, spelt and kamut to make bread. It is

deliscisou, Just sebstitute it for 1/4 of the whole wheat flour and add a bit

of glutin.

I found a bag of it in the fridge and I cannot find a recipe using the

flour. I have cooked the grain in the past and loved it but have no

clue why I bought the flour.

If anyone has a recipe using it please let me know.

pancake recipe.

You bought it because you didn't have any & God forbid you should stumble across

a recipe that you want to make that calls for it! I am a habitual offender.

I googled quinoa flour & found this:

http://www.bobsredmill.com/catalog/index.php?action=showdetails & product_ID=285

At the bottom are links for some recipes using the stuff. Happy cooking!! Beth

Beth,

Thanks. I did visit that site. Later read one of my earlier posts and

discovered that I bought the flour when I meant to buy the grain..LOL

Oh the short term memory loss is not always funny. Last week

I 'found' pearl tapioca in the back of the fridge and I made pudding.

It was so good.

Life is just way too fun..

I have purchase quinoa flour at my local Coop. You should be able to buy it at

a natural foods store. Quinoa is very high in protein.

Kathleen

I've seen recipes that call for it and then say it is free of grains. Can

something be substituted for it?

if you have a grain mill or a Vita Mix you can take some quinoa, available in

the Bob Mill's Brand at many grocery stores and Walmart and grind it into a

flour very easily.

I keep seeing references to quinoa flour in recipes lately. I haven't

seen it in stores in Atlanta. If you use it, where do you buy it?

Sally,

Bob's Red Mill sells the flour. Last time I was in the natural foods store I saw

a package for over $12. My jaw dropped! Anyway, that was organic. They had it in

bins for a much lower price and I didn't need very much.

I don't know if that helped any, but I suppose there's always grinding your own,

which I've never tried.

You can grind it yourself. That's what I do when I want to use it.

Do you use a food mill? Do you grind it just from dry quinoa? What's your

process?

Sally, I make quinoa flour by blending quinoa flakes in my regular

blender as needed. If you have a strong blender, you can blend raw

quinoa grains as well.
