> Those of you who are on the GF diets, do you eat dairy?

Hi Pam,

We are a vegan and gluten free group -- meaning no meat, no fish, no

dairy, no eggs, no gluten. All our recipes here are dairy free (have

you checked out our files yet? Great resource). I'm sure some here

might eat dairy, but on the whole we are a non-dairy group.

My family and I have been eating gluten free, vegan (no animal products which

includes dairy) for over 20 years.

Giving up dairy can be a challenge for those who believe dairy industry

advertising; and because dairy products are seriously addictive. It took me

years to lose the cravings! From what I've heard though, that's unusually long,

most people lose the cravings within a few weeks.

There's lots of reliable research available about the dangers of dairy,

including the fact that it actually doesn't make any difference for bone health.

with dairy allergies and lactose-intolerance, certainly not, and my body is

happier for it.

I have allergies 2 dairy and feel a lot healthier without it. I stick to a vegan

diet as much as possible. I use to eat fish occasionally because I thought it

may help my anemia but it really didn't. The protein became to much for me as

well so I don't eat fish anymore. I'll eat honey if it's in something that's

otherwise vegan, but ~ prefer agave. With all my allergies and health issues

sticking to a vegan diet only makes sense for me. I don't judge other peoples

choices as I know how difficult it can be with many restrictions. My posisition

is your health has to come first.

Most people who start a gf diet because of celiac disease generally tend to have

to give up dairy at least for a while because of the damage to the small

intestines.

We have issues with dairy and eggs. About 50% of celiacs have issues with the

dairy protein - better to eliminate it as it causes more issues than it solves.

I don't eat gluten and dairy unless it is vegan. That puts me in the 50% too.
