Guest guest
Hi all, I made my first smoothy ever today. It was amazing! Will you share your best recipes with me? I never made one before cause I never knew when to consume it! Is it a meal or is it a drink? They're so hearty it's almost like a dinner substitute. Guest guest
That's pretty much how we do ours too. Berries and banana please most everyone. :-) Our grandsons really liked frozen peaches with banana when they were here. We serve them as breakfast in hot weather. Sometimes, we put a tablespoon of ground flax seed in. It thickens it quite a bit, increases the fibre enormously and boosts omega 3 fatty acid. Deborah Hi all, I made my first smoothy ever today. Guest guest
With my smoothies, I make them a meal. I put the fruit (usually strawberries and bananas), milk(almond or soy), then I add colloidal minerals, soy protein, ground flax seed (for the omega 3s). Then I add tea leaves from the Holy Tea that I have used in drinking in the past. (You can use the leaves in other things. I use it in my smoothies. I drink this tea daily to help keep me regular. It is an all herbal tea.) I may add a little sweetener. Then I whirl. I make enough for my son and I to have about 8-10 ozs. It is quite filling with the soy protein in it. maryruth
Guest guest
This may sound werid, but we love green smoothies here at our house.  2 cups water or fruit juice 1 pealed orange or mango(remove pit) 1-2 bananas (frozen ones give this more of a " milkshake " consistency.) hand full of washed greens.(spinach, chopped kale, collards, or dandelion)   Blend thoroughly. The sweetness of the fruit overpowers the greens so you get the nutrition without the bitterness. You can also add protein powder if you like. Sometimes I substitute with a nutmilk and leave out all the fruit except for the bananas. Pitted dates are a nice additon to this variation.   I learned a lot about the health benefits from a great book called Green for Life. http://www.greenforlife.com/  Blessings, Valerie :-) --- On Tue, 12/8/09, Jessie Hume <vegan_taste_test wrote: Jessie Hume <vegan_taste_test Smoothy Recipes Wanted Veganzchat , Tuesday, December 8, 2009, 10:02 PM  Hi all, I made my first smoothy ever today.
