Guest guest
Wow. Deborah http://www.glutenfreesociety.org/video-tutorial/gluten-sensitivity-what-is-i t/ Since there has been a lot of talk about the disease process and which allergy testing is best, etc, I think this video does a great job at explaining all that! I actually learned a few things and it cleared up some confusion and a few questions I had about my allergies that seem to keep increasing! Watch it, pass it on, enjoy! Guest guest
Double that. I have been using products the doctor told me are safe and have still been having problems that seem to be getting worse. This video answered a lot of questions. --- On Fri, 2/26/10, Deborah Pageau <dpageau wrote: Deborah Pageau <dpageau RE: Great video explaining all about gluten, allergy testing, etc Friday, February 26, 2010, 12:12 PM Â Wow. Guest guest
I'm glad it's a good resource for you. I was glad I came upon it because it really cleared up a lot of my confusion and answered a lot of questions! I really understand now why so many assumed safe foods made me sick! Wish I had this to watch starting out because it would have made the whole process a lot easier! lol oh well, live and learn! Guest guest
This presentation reminds me of the way we ate a few years ago. We dedicated ourselves to ensuring that our vegan diet was highly in omega 3 fatty acid than omega 6 fatty acid. By eating a vegan diet of only foods that are dominant in omega 3 fatty acids (no grains, only certain fruits and legumes, all green and yellow veggies) we achieved this with a minimal overall fat intake. Interestingly, eating this way closely resembles the natural diet of primates in the wild. The problem though, is getting enough calories! Primates in the wild have all day to munch, but human primates have work to do other than finding and eating food. We eventually decided to include some tubers and rice even though some flax seed is required to boost the omega 3 balance. Deborah Double that. Guest guest
thank you for posting this. So much now makes sense. I worked out for myself that grains are not my friends. Now I understand why I develop inflammatory responses to them Shez On Feb 24, 2010, at 3:23 PM, Jae wrote: > http://www.glutenfreesociety.org/video-tutorial/gluten-sensitivity-what-is-it/ > > Since there has been a lot of talk about the disease process and which allergy testing is best, etc, I think this video does a great job at explaining all that! Guest guest
I watched this video and am a little confused. When you say it explained a lot to you, do you mean about all grains have gluten? That is the only thing I understood. So we should eat no grains? And that my thyroid disease is from gluten sensitivity. pat --- On Fri, 2/26/10, Jae Jones <recyclednew wrote: Jae Jones recyclednew >
Guest guest
It also explains why allergy testing doesn't always work. I can see how that can be confusing to a lot of people as it's more scientific in explanation. Thyroid disease could be linked to gluten sensitivity. There are various factors in any disease and everybody is different, so how disease manifest in your body and what triggers it can't really be narrowed down by speculation alone. Gluten sensitivity is at the root of many diseases so it is highly probably that it is contributing to the problem. It explained a lot for me because as a baby my mother could not breast feed and rice was the only thing that stayed down so that was my diet my first year of life. Now I can't eat rice along with pretty much all grains! Quinoa is the closest thing to a grain that I eat now, which is considered a grain in the US! (more confusion!) I went through this long process of reactions to various grains that where assumed safe for celiacs, so yes the various glutens in all the grains made sense because now I know why I get sick on so many things. Also the fact that I had rice under the age of 1 contributed to a lot of my sensitivities towards foods. I guess the video is a little more scientic than you'd expect for laymen. Sometimes I forget that not everybody understands all that stuff, so sorry if it was a little over your head. I did like the diagrams and I thought it was pretty informative. :-/ On Sat, Feb 27, 2010 at 8:02 AM, pat <catladybug8355 wrote: > > > I watched this video and am a little confused.
