Had to share a terrible food label I saw the other day- High Fructose Wheat

Syrup- on a package of German chocolates. Didn't know such a thing existed.

Wow! That is scary! Why don't we just put " Genetically Modified Simulation

of ________ " on food packages! lol It seems there is not much real food

left. Even a lot of vegetables are being cloned, which makes me wonder, does

it matter if it's organic? Personally I would rather eat a zucchini that

grew from a seed rather than one that was cloned in a lab, organic or not!

Scientist really need to stop messing with the food supply! The only reason

they so is because so many people are starving in the world...and the reason

so many people are starving in the world is because way too much land is

dedicated to growing grain for livestock, which we all know the whole

pointless cycle so I'm not even going to get started! Shuting up now!

Thanks for sharing this though...something else to look out for! yay :(

I can't agree more. At this time there is a recall of products manufactured with

HVP (hydrolyzed vegetable protein) supplied by Basic Food Flavors of Las Vegas,

Nevada, because the ingredient has the potential to be contaminated with

Salmonella. This product appears to be in so many things and this strain has

been out there since Sept 2009 when Basic Foods 1st distributed the HVP. Dips,

salad dressings, spice blends, soup mixes, on and on. Follow Your Heart -a

vegetarian company was not immune. Their salad dressings are suspect. You can go

to the http://www.fda.gov/Safety/Recalls to see all the recalling companies and

their respective products. Makes you want to eschew eating anything that is not

home created from scratch. I agree with Jae that the internet provides lots of

vegan recipes and even how to videos. Among lots of others are PCRM, vegchef,

vegnews, VeganDad or Fatfreevegan or VRG or Vegweb which are great and each has

links to other great recipe sites. You will never get bored.
