Guest guest
If you walked into a gf bakery, what would you be most excited to find there? What ingredients would your dream item include and/or exclude? Sally Sent from my iPhone >
Guest guest
What a fun & lovely question Sally! While I'm thinking about what my dream item would be, I'll tell you some fun news! We have a little bakery in nearby Roberts Creek, which is a hot bed of artistic and alternative lifestyle people. I was in there on the weekend, and almost half of the bakery items in their case were gluten free. How cool is that! They had black bean brownies, chocolate chip cookies, white cupcakes and some chocolate covered peanut butter balls. I don't eat peanuts but my husband does, so I got one of each. All excellent! Sometimes, they also have a muffin with a chocolate/coconut topping that is awesome. I guess the bottom line is that any dream item of mine is likely to be at least partly chocolate, maybe with some lemon, probably some coconut. In Chinese bakeries, they often have a Dim Sum treat, Sweet Rice balls coated with sesame seeds, with red Adzuki bean paste inside. They are super yummy. So, how about some of that Adzuki paste with a hint of lemon, chocolate and coconut?? Is that asking for too much? Guest guest
I'd love to find raw vegan goodies that are grain free and top allergen free and no beans! I don't really care if stuff is raw or not, but I find that being grain free it's my best bet to look for raw items first. And chocolate is a must!
