Guest guest
Hi Sally, My backlog cleanup continues, and I find this unfinished conversation with you. I realize that your habits have probably evolved since this conversation began, and that what I say here may therefore be a bit outdated for you. Still, I hope that you and perhaps others may benefit. You write: ___ I have always considered that emotions could play a major role in my diagnosis, as I was diagnosed a couple years after having a miscarriage and then experiencing the death of our 17-day-old son who was never conscious during his life. Uh, yes, I have always considered that an option. ___ I would frame this somewhat differently, letting go of the word " diagnosis " and using " emotions " differently. It sounds as if you have some very painful feelings stored in your memory--pain, loss/grief, guilt, shame, perhaps more--that you've never made time to address and/or never known HOW to address (possibly more the latter than the former??). And it sounds like you may be " stuck " , as many people would express it, unable to move forward in many areas of your life because a large focus of your attention remains riveted on the past, on these unresolved feelings and the decisions you made (beliefs you formed) through the experiences that led to the feelings. Much of this, of course, is stored in your subconscious mind, substantively inaccessible from your conscious awareness. And so you create experience after experience, each time repeating the general structure and frustration/disappointment of what has occurred in the past. Am I on the right track here? If " yes " , then the fastest, and in the long run by far the most cost-effective, way to resolve all this is by working in and with your subconscious infrastructure, your most deeply held beliefs, or programming. I say this because whenever the content in your subconscious mind conflicts with your consciously chosen goals, values, beliefs, etc., your subconscious mind almost always " wins " . In effect, you go through life as a semi-automaton, possessing the raw capacity we call " free will " , yet never successfully " getting on top of things " and exercising that free will as you would so love to do. How might this relate to constipation? Perhaps you are familiar with the expression " scared shitless " . When we feel terrified, particularly when this occurs repeatedly and early in life (age 6-7 or younger), we may learn to " hold it all in " . Why? Because then we can more attentively monitor our surroundings for potential danger. I know this sounds a bit ridiculous, and from a conscious adult perspective, it is ridiculous. But from the perspective of a small child, it is all too real. I have helped a number of small children resolve chronic constipation by helping them resolve fears ... and often by working with others in their families, as well. As we go through life, we never arrive at a point where we resolve the garbage that went into our subconscious when we were vary young. And so we carry that programming ... AND the corresponding behaviors ... with us wherever we go. How can we address such a " buildup " of legacy beliefs and behaviors? As I've mentioned in several writings, here, by working directly with our subconscious programming. If you wish to learn more about the distinctions between our subconscious mind and our conscious awareness, I invite you to listen to our free audio program, provided by the Path of Health Community, entitled " Do I Have Two Minds, Or What? !! " . You can download this program at http://snipurl.com/two_minds Hope this helps connect the dots a bit! Best to all, Elchanan _____ rawfood [rawfood ] On Behalf Of Jeff & Sally Moore Wednesday, May 16, 2007 3:40 AM rawfood [Raw Food] Constipation " ...1. The cause of your constipation is dietary. From your brief message, below, we have no information about what you eat ... " going raw " describes nothing at all ... and it is possible that your version of a raw diet is quite constipating. Also, we have no information about you. For example, if you are overweight, then your system is always dehydrated which could contribute to this situation. 2. The cause of your constipation is not dietary, in which case we might explore emotional and/or other causes. Back to you! ... " When I said " going raw, " I mean that I juice carrots, cucumber, and any fruit left in the fruit bowl for my family's use from the day before. I am drinking about 2L of juice per day. Other than that, I eat lots of veggies and fruits. About once a week, I have had a small amount of cooked food. As for my over all health, I am about 50 pounds over weight. I am 46 years old. I have always considered that emotions could play a major role in my diagnosis, as I was diagnosed a couple years after having a miscarriage and then experiencing the death of our 17-day-old son who was never conscious during his life. Uh, yes, I have always considered that an option. Does that help? Sally

[...] Pretty sure that expression has entirely the opposite meaning: http://www.answers.com/topic/shitless It describes the involuntary bowel evacuation often preceding the flight option in fight-or-flight situations as preparation for action. -Erin http://www.zenpawn.com/vegblog
