Hi everybody,

I used to be raw in january for a month.

Then the film the secret destabilized my beliefs...

Since this period i went on and off the raw food.

But since the 1st of august i m back on the raw path (100%)..

Hope you are all good.

Alix.

xx

I ve got few question about food combining as i realized that i was really bad

as doing it and

had many indigestion because of it.

Can i eat tomatoes (fruit) with carrots (starch vegetables) ?

With what can i eat nuts and seeds (i still need them in my diet at the moment)

?

Can i mix nuts and seeds ?

Can i mix starchy vegetables with normal vegetables ?

Thanks for all.

Great questions Alix! I'm new also and am interested in seeing the

responses to your questions?

May I ask, why " The Secret " destabilized your beliefs?

Also, I'd like to ask the raw foodists out there...how many go raw/organic

as opposed to raw/grocery bought pesticide laden foods?

Thanks so much ~

Jackie

Jackie,

My oldest son was here over the weekend. I asked him to replace some

of the fruit he ate after I realized that I didn't mind feeding him -

what I minded was that after he satisfied his appetite - he always

acts as if he hasn't eaten for days - I didn't have much left to

eat. I buy and monitor fruit for quantity, quality and ripeness. So I

may have a half dozen mangos in various stages of ripeness, or 10

pounds of bananas in varying states of ripeness, etc. All geared

toward known mouths to feed, whether my wife and I or us plus

retreatants.

Then he shows up unexpectedly and seems famished - eats half the ripe

fruit that's available in two hours and I'm left hunting for food for

the next couple days until the demand and available ripe comes back

into balance.

He went to Santa Barbara for a couple hours and came back with lots

of fruit - cantaloupes, plums, peaches...

Very nice. I was grateful.

I took out a half dozes plums that felt wonderfully ripe, washed them

off, and took a bite.

HORRIBLE. No taste. Thick, sticky texture. Bought from the grocery

store. Not organic. Peaches the same...

The ones I get are either from our own trees (plums are just coming

in), or from a couple organic growers I know at the farmers market.

These are so luscious, so juicy, so sweet! My mother in law used to

call fruit like this the best bathtub variety. Fruit that just oozes

and runs down your chin, onto your shirt and pants. Safer to eat

naked in the bathtub!

This is the difference between agribusiness grown, and lovingly grown

organic foods.

And then the organic label covers a wide range of quality. The

" organic " labeled by the agribusiness companies is not what I would

call truly organic - though it fits the new legal definition. It's

being grown on soils that have been depleted, in areas that have

previously been sprayed, etc. There's no comparison to organic where

the care is for the health of the soil.

At our Farmer's Market in Ojai there are three large organic sellers

of fruit and veggies. Two are good, but one is amazing. The energy of

the people who work the farm, the energy of the booth and the energy

of the food are just amazing! You can feel the difference just

holding it, let alone eating it. It just vibrates at a much higher

level.

Bottom line...

Get the very best food you can find and afford. There are times that

compromises have to be made. Each compromise has an effect on ones

health. Occasional ones not so much. Consistent compromises for lower

energy foods will create a body/mind that resonates with that energy

and those choices. Keep searching for foods that are higher on the

energy scale.

Be Well!
