Guest guest
My VistaPrint Electronic Business CardHi friends, I'm new here and I will be attending my first Alissa Cohen raw food class this Friday. I'm wondering if most raw foodist eat only organic or regular grocery store bought foods? Thanks and looking forward to learning and sharing! ~ Jackie
Guest guest
Since the goal is health, most of us do eat organic. Conventional produce is very scary and very deadly when you understand irradiation, pesticides, herbicides, GMO and other deadly things they do to it. It is no longer a live food, just a mutated deadly food imo. And that's from the irradiation alone. If you have $1500 to pay for Alissa's overpriced and overrated programs, then affording organic shouldn't be a big problem..... Your better off saving your money and spreading that extra cash out amongst your grocery bills. I know enough people who have done her programs and were disappointed. rawfood , " YoungLiving " <totalhealth wrote: > > My VistaPrint Electronic Business CardHi friends, > I'm new here and I will be attending my first Alissa Cohen raw food class > this Friday. Guest guest
I agree completely with Erica, for one. At first, I couldn't notice TOO much difference between organic and regular, but once you eat organic for a while and your body gets used to it, and then try regular again, the difference is incredible. I can hardly even eat non-organic produce anymore, it is just too sour tasting. It is most assuredly worth doing or spending the extra bit to get organic produce. And if you can find locally grown sources, so much the better. Joe rawfood , " Erica " <schoolofrawk wrote: > > Since the goal is health, most of us do eat organic. Guest guest
I have to agree with Erica and Joe. I have been eating all organic foods about 4 years ago. Overall my body, skin and well being are much better. I look young, take better care of myself and healthier...I used to cough in the winter time, but the recent 2-3 years I have no long cough or get cold even though I do not have any evidence proof that it is all about organic foods, but my body do much appreciate when I eat organic and organic foods only... Thank you. yOkO my organic cooking blog: http://360./tamotsukakei Joe Postma <joepostma wrote: I agree completely with Erica, for one. Guest guest
Wow Erica...I joined this group to get some info not get blasted for wanting to take a $30 local class! By the way, I am well aware of what's in store bought produce, I have been buying organic fruits and veggies for awhile now...it's just that I am new to eating them raw and need a little help in getting started! I just had my first box of organic fruits and veggies delivered to my door, and I have a feeling you are going to blast me for that too. Well before you type that next email, saying how expensive that is, know that we all have our reasons for what we do...mine happens to be that due to my husbands health I don't have alot of time to leave the house searching for organic foods! Take care (and play nice : - ) Jackie rawfood [rawfood ]On Behalf Of Erica Wednesday, August 08, 2007 11:49 AM rawfood [Raw Food] Re: Organic or not Since the goal is health, most of us do eat organic. Guest guest
" Wow Erica...I joined this group to get some info not get blasted for wanting to take a $30 local class! " I didn't blast YOU, I offered a suggestion since so many are blindly signing up for Alissa's multi-thousand dollar " pyramid scheme " programs and I have spoken to many who are disappointed, even shocked, by their experience. For $30, it is clearly not one of her certifications/programs (since the EXACT same information would be $800), just probably one of her chefs teaching their own demonstration. Enjoy! ~Erica oneSearch: Finally, mobile search that gives answers, not web links.
Guest guest
Organic or Conventional? Depends what item you are buying. Best advice I have seen is by my friends at EWG.ORG http://www.ewg.org/sites/foodnews/ Some conventional is OK, some is NEVER OK. This is a guide to which is which. Guest guest
I am new to raw and Alissa Cohen is my first introduction to this diet. I think her book is amazing! I have healed myself from the need to take asthma meds daily! Woooooo Hoo! I have been raw for almost 3 months now and I don't need my asthma meds. Chucking dairy out the window was the best advice I have ever gotten. Thank you Alissa!!! I would totally shell out the $$$ to be able to take her class. How was it??? Staying raw!!! ~Cucumber rawfood , " YoungLiving " <totalhealth wrote: > > Wow Erica...I joined this group to get some info not get blasted for wanting > to take a $30 local class! > By the way, I am well aware of what's in store bought produce, I have been > buying organic fruits and veggies for awhile now...it's just that I am new > to eating them raw and need a little help in getting started! > I just had my first box of organic fruits and veggies delivered to my door, > and I have a feeling you are going to blast me for that too. Guest guest
Hi there, I did not take Alissa's class but you can go to her website for prices...www.alissacohen.com I bought her book and dvd to get me started then took a few local classes for $30 taught by one of her students. It was a great help but now hubby and I are doing less recipes and more of juicing, smoothies and just eating fruits. I have also healed myself from allergies and asthma (although it was prior to going raw), isn't it a great feeling? Now we are working on my husbands heart condition...he's going through heart transplant evaluation but is actually getting too healthy for that with the alternatives we are doing! Life is GREAT when you do the right things :-) Take care... ~ Jackie rawfood [rawfood ]On Behalf Of cucumbersyum Wednesday, September 12, 2007 6:22 PM rawfood [Raw Food] Re: Organic or not I am new to raw and Alissa Cohen is my first introduction to this diet.
